Module Outline
This module equips students with essential knowledge and skills in digital journalism. You will be encouraged to produce news material and features for a range of platforms. You will also explore theoretical approaches to digital journalism. Students will obtain a critical understanding of digital journalism and apply this to their own journalistic practice.
Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the techniques of news and feature writing for print and digital outputs.
Deploy originality and creativity in the application of the knowledge of these techniques to print and digital media outputs and demonstrate autonomous planning and execution of tasks to tight deadlines and in line with professional legal and ethical requirements.
Address complex issues arising in the process of creating print and digital media contents in a critical and creative manner and reflect on these issues.
Critically appraise their individual professional practice.
