Module Outline

This module is designed to teach students about the techniques available to modern molecular genetics and molecular cell biology researchers. For each technique the students will be required to analyse data and comment on the applicability of that technique to the biological problem being investigated.

Module learning outcomes

Gain a comprehensive knowledge of the scientific basis of molecular research techniques.

Extract relevant information and interpret data from primary research publications.

Apply knowledge of experimental protocols to problem solving in research.

Develop advanced analytical skills and be able to efficiently communicate them in verbal form.
