Module Outline
This module will include a series of seminars for students covering several topics including national laws on data and ethical implications as well as seminars by Data-Science-oriented companies. The students will be expected to write a final dissertation of 3000 words on a topic of their choice falling within the scope of the module.
Module learning outcomes
Understand and critically evaluate the basics of the national law on data protection and freedom of information
Understand the wider ethical context related to data science when data are relative to human or living beings
Understand and critically evaluate the wider socio-economic context of data science
Write a concise essay on wider aspects of data science
