Module Outline

This module will require students to use literature to study the background to a problem in Data Science in their respective stream.

Students will choose an individual supervisor and devise a strategy by which this problem can be studied giving details of techniques and resources that will be used to address the problem.

This research proposal will form the basis of the Data Science Dissertation that students will write in summer term.

Use primary literature and data to propose hypotheses.

Critically evaluate current research and advanced scholarship in the discipline.

Appreciate the specific resources required to deliver a complex strategy.

Devise and present an original research proposal.
