FHEQ Level 3 (sub-degree)
Module Outline
This module develops essential elements of mathematics, concentrating on the fundamentals of algebra, calculus and geometry.
The module is broadly equivalent to an A-level Further Mathematics course concentrating on these elements. In addition, it introduces students to methods of proof.
This module will cover:
• Set Theory and Propositional Logic
• Different methods of Proof
• Functional and techniques for finding roots of functions
• Matrices
• Conics
Module learning outcomes
Use logical arguments and deductive reasoning through different methods of proof.
Have an understanding of basic Linear Algebra, Geometry and Calculus.
Analyse and study basic functions using a range of mathematical methods.
Solve appropriate mathematical problems under time constraints.
