Module Outline
Students will work with a faculty member as members of one of the department's research groups, and will receive a stipend to cover living expenses.
During your research placement, you will explore research methods, learn to understand and use scientific literature, and develop practical and mathematical skills. It will provide you with opportunities for learning about research methods and practices at the same time as developing your knowledge and understanding of Mathematics.
This module is compulsory for students on the MMath with Research Placement.

Have experienced and developed research skills in an area of Mathematics.
Conduct a literature search.
Present results in a manner accessible to Mathematics undergraduate students.
