Module Outline

• Classical probability, basic conditioning.
• Random variables, distribution functions, moments, independence.
• Common continuous and discrete random variables.
• Law of large numbers and central limit theorem.

Module learning outcomes

Select and employ appropriate methods to solve basic problems in probability;

Appreciate and understand common random variables;

Comprehend and use central theorems of Probability Theory.

Have gathered sufficient knowledge of different career paths for mathematics graduates that they can draw up their own plan to achieve employment success after graduation
