Module Outline
The main aim of this module is to provide an introduction to global capital markets. The module covers the decision-making of companies operating internationally and discusses issues arising in multinational financial management such as international monetary systems, exchange rate regimes, as well as tax rules and legal and institutional complexities. Since foreign exchange rate fluctuations are an important risk factor for multinational companies, the discussion of relevant financial instruments and their application are a key elements of this module. Further topics include: measuring and managing currency exchange risk and capital budgeting for multinational cooperations. The module also considers country risks faced by multinational companies and discusses the implications of the financial crisis 2007-2009 on global companies.

Systematic presentation and understanding of financial instruments for multinational companies, especially foreign exchange instruments
Evaluate methodologies of measuring performance and meeting liquidity needs
Systematic examination of capital budgeting management, growth and dividend policy
