Applying Physics Skills (F3227)
Applying Physics Skills
Module F3227
Module details for 2025/26.
15 credits
FHEQ Level 5
Module Outline
The aims of the module are to develop and enhance the deployment of a broad range of basic skills and knowledge to elucidate real world problems and/or phenomena, and to move away from the notion that such problems can be solved with the knowledge from a single module. A variety of techniques, both analytical and numerical, will be required, and there will be an emphasis on justification and clear explanation of the physical principles applied.
Module learning outcomes
For a broad range of real-world problems, to be able identify clearly the question being asked and the physical principles involved [Assessments
To be able to express both the question and the solution in mathematical form
To be able to apply a range of analytic and numerical techniques to solve physical problem.
To be able to present solutions clearly, justifying the equations used, and interpreting the solutions in a physical way.
