Module Outline

Fundamental experiments in physics. The student will do a series of classic experiments to build up basic experimental and analysis skills. The experience of preparing, performing and analysing experiments will also deepen the understanding of the fundamental physical concepts involved.

Module learning outcomes

Keep detailed, transferable records and handle common experimental equipment.

Analyse measurement data to extract physics.

Estimate uncertainties and apply these estimates in an error analysis.

Present in written form, measurement procedures, analyses and results.
