This course satisfies the academic component / GDL requirements of Bar training (subject to minimum pass marks and number of attempts). This degree acts as a gateway to further qualification as both a solicitor and a barrister. The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) must be taken by graduates wishing to become a solicitor.

Course learning outcomes

Demonstrate critical awareness of relevant concepts, principles and rules in the areas of law studied

Deploy originality in the application of relevant rules and principles to legal problems

Display self-direction in the development and analysis of legal arguments

Devise and reflect upon ways of communicating complex legal arguments

Act autonomously in appraising and critiquing relevant sources through independent research

Initiate and manage strategies for developing appropriate legal and IT skills
